Condition reports can now be centralized through this online platform, offering the following professional features:

Advanced File Organization: Create dedicated folders and sub-folders (organized by project, site, or collection).
Optimized Data Transfer: Improved WebDAV protocol for the seamless upload of high-resolution files.
Automated Artwork Archives: Upon each export, the system automatically creates a comprehensive folder containing the PDF report, the re-importable Horus file, and a dedicated images folder with all photos renamed in a standardized format (accessionnumber_date_hour or exhibitionnumber_loaner_date_hour).
Smart Centralization: The service automatically generates master folders: one for all PDFs, one for Horus source files (for easy tablet synchronization), and one containing all renamed high-quality photographs.
Seamless Integration: Import condition reports or objects lists directly from Horus Drive into Horus CR Pro with a single click.

New Fields Now Available in Exhibition and Standard Profiles

Following requests from our users working in exhibition services, we have added several new fields to improve the documentation process in Horus Condition Report. These fields are now visible in the Exhibition and Standard profiles and hidden by default in the Conservation profile. You can customize their visibility at any time in your profile settings.

General Exhibition Information
You can now add the Scenography number and Showcase number to complement the existing Inventory number and Exhibition number fields.

Lender Information
A new checkbox allows you to mark “See lender condition report” — useful when you need to notify users that a lender report is available and should be consulted.

Preventive Conservation
Three new checkboxes are available to signal special requirements during the exhibition or handling of the artwork:

Special attention required: When this is checked, an orange dot will appear next to the item’s cover photo on the home screen, helping teams easily identify works that require extra care.
Alarm required
Dusting authorized

Packaging
The new Packaging type field offers an extensive list of packaging options used by our partners. This includes:

Contact materials (e.g., tissue paper, Tyvek®)
Crate types (e.g., travel crates, slide crates, climate-controlled crates)
Packing types (e.g., portfolios, conservation boxes, shuttle crates)

You can also specify the position of the artwork within the packaging

File Naming Options
You can now choose between two file naming conventions for your condition reports and treatment reports:

InventoryNumber\_Date\_Time
ExhibitionNumber\_Lender\_Date\_Time

New layout “Exhibition”

We now offer a second layout option, available via the Preferences menu (top left of the home page) > Profile > Document Layout.

This new format differs from the Standard layout in several ways:

Photographs and observation reports are grouped at the end of the document.
The first two pages gather all textual information: legal details, artwork identification, final remarks, preventive conservation, and packing information.
The document title highlights the date and location of the condition report.
At the top right of the first page, key information is displayed in red and bold: this indicates any specific precautions (special attention, alarm system, dusting authorization, lender’s condition report consultation).

This layout was developed in collaboration with exhibition management and production teams. We hope it will best meet your needs in that context.

New import in .CSV (IOS)

With Horus CR Pro version, you can import information in .CSV format to include data such as the artwork title, inventory numbers, materials and techniques, dimensions, etc.

We now offer a new data import format on iOS that includes additional information: document title, exhibition number (or management number), scenography number, showcase number, lender, and alarm details. This new import format is specifically designed to meet the needs of exhibition services.

How does it work?

If you manage your exhibition using spreadsheet software (Excel®, Open Office®…), simply copy and paste your columns into the attached template. The column order ensures that the data is correctly linked to your condition report in Horus CR. Make sure not to leave empty rows and to maintain the same number of columns. You may leave individual cells empty.

Save the file as “CSV UTF-8 (Comma Delimited)”, and store it on your device (e.g., via Airdrop, email, server…).

Steps to import:

Open the Horus CR application.
Create a folder to store your import.
Click on the “+” button > “Import” (iOS) and locate your file.
Open it, select the reports, or press “Select All”, then confirm with “OK”.
Choose “Extended CSV” (which includes more fields than the Standard format).

Recommendations:

You can manually fill in certain cells and drag them to repeat content (line breaks can also be added within cells).

New IOS design

The application now has a new look!

We have updated the design of the app to the IOS version.

We are concerned with improving the readability and ergonomics of the app.

Since 2021, the Android version has been more explicit, friendlier, and more ergonomic than the iOS version.

Now, both applications have the same interface, which has several aesthetic but also practical advantages:

A 5-step navigation bar that allows you to quickly move to the chosen step without scrolling through each screen
A Validate and Preview button on each page
Visible captions under each photo
The ability to rotate images faster.
A blue point to make validated reports more visible.

This update allows you to document your collections in Portuguese! Translating Horus condition report is always a difficult exercise that requires a level of knowledge and experience in language and in the conservation of collections.

We want to thank our translators who responded to the challenge of offering a standard translation to professionals from the Portuguese and Brazilian collections.

Update your app by clicking “Update” from the Play store and the App store, then click Preferences > Language to choose Portuguese.

We are delighted to share with you the features of the new version of Horus condition report. 1st novelty: you can now import photos in batches! On IOS, you may need access permissions to photos in Settings.

Horus 2021 update : how to use the preventive conservation section?

From August 2021, the Horus condition report application will offer you new fields concerning preventive conservation.

How to use it?
Located at the end of the report, this section allows you to enter the optimal preventive conservation conditions for the work.

You can indicate your recommendations concerning:

1. Climate: (temperature and relative humidity)

You can indicate the recommended minimum and maximum temperatures and relative humidity and the tolerable variations over 24 hours.

2. Light :
You can enter the maximum light exposure to be respected for the exhibitions (including the rate of light exposure not to be exceeded over a year). You can also add additional data below in “free text”.

You can also indicate the minimum distance between the work and the public as well as information about the installation.
Tick the fields you wish to fill in and indicate the recommended distance by moving the cursor over the line.

How to make a treatment report ?

The Horus condition report application allows conservators to complete the condition reports with the treatments carried out to make treatment reports.

The interventions can be entered in the “Treatments done” field. You can also add photos during and after treatments in two formats with the “Add treatments” button.

When the “Treatments done” field is filled in, the document is called by default “Treatment report” rather than “Condition report”. You can change the title of the document in the “Document title” field.

This feature is available on the Pro version. To try it, contact us for a trial version.
